1.5 Years

Cael entered the nursery today at church. He ran right in and kept running the whole time, while his mom was wiping away the tears.
Of joy.
No more wrestling with him for three whole hours. No more missing classes. No more hoping he will fall asleep for a few minutes.
Sorry, you dear nursery workers. Good luck with the little go-getter.

Snow Day

Where did my shoes go?

What is Dad doing now?
Oh, he's finally getting the leaves off the lawn.

Who is that guy?

I feel a little draft...

I caught Cael with his pants down,
standing there watching T.V.
What a nut!

Watching Wrestling and Wrestling Cael

First, Cael played and played and played while we were at the Doc Wright tournament with Auntie Brandee and Hope. Hope is a lifesaver; she kept taking the little energizer bunny out in the foyer to play on the awards' stand. When not out there, Cael played with his toys, read books, ate, and bonded with Austin.

Second, Tony Raykovitz took Cael in a wrestling hold and walked around with him until his arm was visibly limp, and he fell asleep (Cael, not Tony). Cael slept for awhile until his dumb mama dropped her phone on the floor near where he was sleeping. Startled, he awoke and was grumpy until he ate a bag of popcorn
from the concession stand.

In conclusion, Cael spent Saturday of the tournament with Aunt Kirsti in Holbrook, and Mama actually got to watch some high school wrestling. Go Redskins!

Growing Up . . .

Cael is turning from my baby to my little boy.

There are so many new things he is doing, from coloring at Denny's to eating a popsicle all by himself.

He says many words, but his best two right now are shoe and ball, with shoe being his first clear word.

He loves to help me with laundry and cleaning. Last week he was dusting the floor for me with the Swiffer duster.

He knows where his ears, eyes, nose, mouth, and hands are, and he points to them.

He makes the sounds for cow, Santa, monkey, and elephant, with actions for the latter two. He puts fingers to his mouth and says, "Hmmm..."

He sees a picture of Christ, we ask, "Who's that?", and he says, "Jesus" pretty well, as he smiles at the picture. It is the best!

He also claps and cheers for teams, even if it is the wrong one. If there is a football game on T.V., he will clap and say, "Yay!"

He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Go Diego Go, Dora the Explorer,
and The Grinch cartoon.

Every night before he goes to bed, he lies on our bed and watches The Grinch while drinking his milk and cuddling with the quilt.

It isn't so bad having him grow up and change, just as long as he always has loves for his mama.
