Grateful for the Little Things

Cael is a grateful boy.
He says "Thank you" and genuinely appreciates
the things people do for him.

Today I surprised Cael with a refillable cup
from Circle K. You would think I gave him
$100 with how excited he was.
"I love it, Mom!" he told me, and he was
happy that he has a cup like Dad's now.
Grandma Jill sent home this Superhero busy book for him, and he was also ecstatic about it. He hugged Dad and thanked him for it, even though Dad just delivered the book from Holbrook.
I love his thankful heart and his sweet spirit.

Superheroes: They're just like us!

They love their country.
They do homework.
They have eyes.
They take naps on the couch.
They take naps on the bed.
They put dress-up clothes on their dogs.
They get kissed by Mom.
They take selfies.
They read with their parents.
They drool.
They drool a lot.
They watch Frozen and spend time with cousins.
They enjoy drawing self-portraits.
They go to the dentist, AND they get cavities.

Looking Through the Eyes of Love

Batman does fly!

Go Cardinals!

I love the middle picture with
your mean football face,
but I love the smiling faces, too.
You are the cutest football player I know!

New Year's Day

Dad made Gramma's flour tortillas to go along with our chile pork for football-watching time. You got into the spirit by putting on your outfit and running some plays of your own.

After-Christmas Divinity

Flash licking the beaters.
I didn't get around to making my favorite Christmas treat until after the actual day, but better late than never is my motto, especially when it comes to divinity. It is, as the name suggests, divine. It looked so pretty on this red plate, but it tasted even better than it looked. Yum!

Christmas: S.P.O.I.L.E.D. and Happy

You got this Spider-Man toy from Auntie and Uncle Ray.

Santa also brought you the tummy stuffer, Green Lantern gloves,
and a candy cane, just like you wanted.
Pictured is the other loot you received:
Lego Spider-Man, Dusty Crophopper, and the Planes movie
from Mom and Dad, plus an Avengers' book.

Aunt Julie gave you this superhero action figure set.
You set them all up at Aunt Kirsti's and took this picture.

Grandma and Grandpa scored with this Cardinals'
football ensemble.

Christmas: Santa Came Through

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve, we did our traditional meal
and nativity at the Johnson home.
Emmie wanted to cuddle with Uncle Paul.

Later that night, the jolly old man was captured in this photo inside our house! He was bringing Cael some fun things for Christmas because Cael was a good boy this year.

The Polar Express

We got to go on the Polar Express and visit the North Pole. It was so much fun, and we all loved it.
You can see how excited Cael was while he is holding his ticket before the train's departure.
Cael especially enjoyed receiving a song book and singing along with all the other people in our train car. He even danced in the aisle.
On the return trip, Santa came aboard and talked to each child. He gave us bells to remember to believe in him and in the magic of Christmas.
We hope to make this an annual family tradition. All aboard!

Christmas Program

Cael's Kindergarten program was great. Mom had heard the songs many times at home as Cael practiced them over and over and over, but watching him perform with his classmates was still a treat. Grandpa & Grandma were there, as well as Great-grandpa, Grandma, and Aunt Kirsti, plus Aunt Nicoke.

We all were proud of Cael's singing and moving to the beat. These Coronado Christmas programs are always just the thing to bring the Christmas spirit, and this was true again.

Cael's favorite song that he sang at his program was "Red and Green."

Great job, Buddy! We are looking forward to many more of your performances.
