Camping in July, Part Two

We camped for almost a week
by Green's Peak
for our annual Heap Reunion.
Dad had to work for most of it,
so we ventured out on our own...

Ready to go with fishing hat and wiffle ball
All bundled up for the cold night
Relaxing in the trailer, with all your favorite things
Dad is looking sexy in his camo pants,
as you stand by him.
Chillin' with the Gradester...
You love your cousins,
and you just oohed and ahhed over little Grady.
Your fashionable self put boots over your pajamas to go outside and find Mom.
You and Isabel are going to be trouble someday.
Wait, going to be?
You loved playing this game that
Aunt Michelle and Uncle Michael brought,
and you did very well, getting all six on the bars.

Happy 4th Birthday!

Your birthday was on the Saturday
of the Pioneer Days' festivities this year,
so we went to the parade in the morning
and then had your birthday party
at our house for lunch.

We had a lot of family there,
and you were spoiled with many presents.

As we counted down to your birthday,
you kept asking for party hats,
so you and everyone there
wore one for the celebration.
After seeing your first birthday party pictures,
you asked for a Nemo cookie for this birthday,
so Mom made you one again.
Just keep swimming - just keep swimming.
You are smiling as you are
reading one of the three Scooby Doo cards you received.
Parker is helping you open one of your favorite gifts,
your light-up giraffe pillow pet, from Grandma,
Aunt Kirsti, Aunt Sarah, and Jalen.
Mom and Dad got you this cool Cars' bike,
and you got right on it to ride around.
Great-grandpa gave you a monkey pillow pet.
Lucky boy! Now you have two pillow pets.
All in all, you were one happy cowboy that day.
(Cowboy gear provided by the Davis family.)

Christmas in July

One weekend in July,
we went camping at Dad's
family's ranch for a
Christmas in July celebration.
Grandma and Grandpa
had the place decked with
boughs of holly and lights.
Dad loves being at the ranch,
and he has many
happy memories from
being there as a child.
Grandpa enjoyed sitting
in his throne chair
and overseeing the events.
You loved camping in the trailer,
seeing your aunts and uncles,
and all the fun activities,
including a drive-by visit from Santa Claus.
We are thankful we got to have
this time together with family,
and we are grateful to
Grandma and Grandpa for
organizing and planning it all.
